A document analysis platform that reads across large sets of agreements to answer what an estate actually commits you to. It works from the document text rather than metadata somebody entered, and copes with poorly scanned historic files.

What it costs

Published list price of approximately $41,340 a year for 1,000 documents with unlimited users. Enterprise deployments are reported from around $25,000 a year depending on volume and modules.

How it scores, and where

We score a tool for the job each guide is about rather than giving it one number everywhere, so Luminance scores differently depending on what you are trying to do. These are its actual scores on the guides it appears on. How we score.

Fit by buyer

Scored 1 to 5, where 5 means the tool was built for that buyer. Scope is how much of the job it does. These are the same scores used on every guide Luminance appears on. How we score.

Who it suits

Businesses holding thousands of agreements signed over years by people who have left, and anyone who needs to find every contract carrying a particular clause. It also publishes a list price of about $41,340 a year for 1,000 documents, which is unusual at this tier and makes it a useful benchmark in a category that mostly publishes nothing.

Who should look elsewhere

Teams redlining a handful of agreements a week. It is a great deal of platform for that problem, onboarding takes real time, and the list price covers a document volume most small teams will never reach.

Limitations

Priced by document volume rather than seats, so a team negotiating a small number of large agreements pays for capacity it will not use. The published figure of roughly $41,340 a year puts it beyond most in-house teams, and it expects an estate large enough for the model to learn from.
